The exhibition Lucio Costa Archive draws on the personal collection of the renowned urban planner, which was donated by his family to the Casa da Arquitetura in 2021. Curated by Ana Vaz Milheiro in collaboration with Leonor Matos Silva (both researchers at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte), Lucio Costa Archive opens on 18 April at Casa da Arquitetura, with a programme featuring two days of free activities, and will run until 13 September 2026.

DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte congratulates Nuno Grancho on his selection as Visiting Professor, to teach during the Spring Semester of 2027, in the Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies at Brown University. The researcher will additionally collaborate with the Department of History of Art and Architecture at the same institution.

Identity and Space of Colonial Urbanism under Portuguese, French, and Danish Rules: Diu, Pondicherry, and Tranquebar” in the Routledge Companion to Art and Challenges to Empire, the Centre for Privacy Studies at the University of Copenhagen interviewed Nuno Grancho, researcher at DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte.

Ana Mehnert Pascoal’s chapter ‘Between Hierarchy, Efficiency and Pragmatism: Picturing Portuguese Government Offices in Historic Buildings during the Estado Novo Dictatorship’ has been published by Leuven University Press in the open-acess book Behind Office Doors. Use and Users in the History of Office Buildings, edited by Jens van de Maele.

The 3rd edition of the International Congress Colonial and Post-Colonial Landscapes will take place at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon, from 11 to 13 February 2026. Following the questioning of Architecture, Cities and Infrastructures (2019) and Architecture, Colonialism and War (2023) in previous editions, this edition will focus on Architecture, Cities, and Labour.

Beatriz Serrazina, Integrated Researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte, has published the chapter ‘Building the Fringes of Empire. Mining Companies, Transnational Experts, Race and Space in Colonial Africa' in the Routledge Critical Companion to Race and Architecture.

The conference Do Alto das Picoas à Casa Prego: viagens do olhar em torno de uma resistência [From the Alto das Picoas to Casa Prego: visual journeys around a resistance], delivered by Paula André (researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte), will take place on 28 January at 6:30 PM, at El Corte Inglés in Lisbon.

Nuno Grancho, Integrated Researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte, has published the chapter 'Public Shared Places and Private Absent Divides. Identity and Space of Colonial Urbanism under Portuguese, French, and Danish Rules: Diu, Pondicherry and Tranquebar' in The Routledge Companion to Art and Challenges to Empire.

In this work, the authors explored innovative 360-degree video-based survey methods for documenting fragile and inaccessible heritage sites, aiming to test how different camera paths (from simple perimeter walks to more complex trajectories) can influence the balance between speed, accuracy, and detail in 3D reconstructions.
