Nuno Grancho, Integrated Researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte, has published the chapter 'Public Shared Places and Private Absent Divides. Identity and Space of Colonial Urbanism under Portuguese, French, and Danish Rules: Diu, Pondicherry and Tranquebar' in The Routledge Companion to Art and Challenges to Empire.

DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte researchers Sandra Marques Pereira and Tânia Lemos co-authored the chapter ‘Ways of Inhabiting and Perceiving an Álvaro Siza House’ with Idalina Machado and Leandro Arez, for the Routlegde Handbook of Architecture and Anthropology.

The data research project, A bomba-relógio da abstenção (The Abstention Time Bomb), by Divergente in collaboration with the European Data Journalism Network (EDJNet) and DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte, won the Data Journalism Award 2024 from the Sociedade Portuguesa de Estatística.

From November 19 to 28, 2025, Iscte – Knowledge and Innovation hosts the Science and Technology Week, featuring a series of events aimed at researchers and PhD candidates. Rita Calvário, researcher at DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte, will join the Socio-Ecological Transformation in Times of Regression International Symposium, as guest speaker. The symposium will be hosted by the University of Kassel on December 4th and 5th, 2025.

The 7th Meeting Cidades, Arquitetura e Arquivos em contexto Ibero-Americano, coordinated by Paula André, Paulo Batista, and Ricardo Trevisan, will take place on 24 and 25 October at the Casa da Arquitectura in Matosinhos.

The researcher Ricardo Paes Mamede, in an interview to CNN Portugal, argues that the labour market in Portugal is not rigid and that the Government’s proposed amendments to labour legislation will result in an "enormous reduction of the negotiating power" of workers, which has implications not only for their income but also for their living conditions.

In this work, the authors explored innovative 360-degree video-based survey methods for documenting fragile and inaccessible heritage sites, aiming to test how different camera paths (from simple perimeter walks to more complex trajectories) can influence the balance between speed, accuracy, and detail in 3D reconstructions.

Lucio Baccaro, Director of the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, interview in Público, following his visit to Lisbon for the presentation of the lecture Comparative Political Economy and the Growth Model Perspective, at the Conferência Inaugural dos Programas de Mestrado e Doutoramento em Economia Política 2025/2026, held at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon.

Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon will host the Opening Session of the PhD Programme in Urban Studies (a joint Doctoral programme between Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon and NOVA FCSH). The session will take place on 16 October, at 6:00 PM, in Auditorium C1.04, Building 2.

The International Chair project on Ageing, developed in collaboration with various Francophone and international partners, will be officially presented at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, on October 13.

Following the participation of DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte researchers Inês Nascimento, Raquel Lopes, Lorenzo Stefano Iannizzotto, and Elian Stefa, under the scientific coordination of Alexandra Paio, in the Lisbon Architecture Triennale Millennium BCP Universities Award, the project Immaterial Matters was selected for the final shortlist of six projects and is currently on display at Garagem Sul – CCB, as part of the Lighter exhibition.

The Arquiteturas Film Festival will take place from 1–4 July 2026 in Porto, Portugal. Organised by INSTITUTO and directed by architect Paulo Moreira, the festival was founded in 2013 and has since become a platform for debating and disseminating architecture in dialogue with the visual and spatial arts, critical thought, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
