DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte researchers’ article in Climate Policy

The article “Strategic pathways for decarbonization: a data-driven typology to strengthen climate policy”, co-authored by D’C researchers Nuno Bento, Tiago and Margarida Fontes, was recently published in Climate Policy.

This work discusses how, despite extensive climate mitigation research, there is no clear overarching framework for understanding how decarbonization strategies cluster together. Using AI-based analysis of more than one million scientific papers (2011–2021), they identify six recurring decarbonization pathways and show how their prominence varies across regions, disciplines, and policy contexts.
