The Youth Employment Observatory and the City-Regions Transitions Observatory participated today at the Iscte Open Day 2026. The activities, designed for highschool students, were organized and led by DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte researchers João Loureiro (Youth Employment Observatory), and Teresa Marat-Mendes, (Coordinator of the City-Regions Transitions Observatory).

João Loureiro hosted the session "Youth Employment in Portugal: Rights and Indicators", which featured an interactive presentation and fostered an engaging dialogue on labour rights. The activity examined current youth employment metrics alongside the latest projections concerning the risk of job displacement driven by automation.

Teresa Marat-Mendes promoted the Atelier de Projeto Final de Arquitetura (Architecture Final Project Studio), a space dedicated to showcasing the research of Integrated Master's students. These projects focused on the critical relationship between architecture and the food system, seeking to address a fundamental question: how can housing, urban spaces, and regional territories be planned to support a more sustainable system?

DINÂMIA’CET-Iscte thanks the involved researchers for their participation and commitment to bringing scientific research closer to a younger audience, inspiring and enlightening future generations of university students.
