How can the housing crisis be solved?

That is the question up for discussion tomorrow night on the RTP Açores programme 'Grande Debate'.

Finding affordable housing is becoming increasingly difficult. The problem has worsened, particularly for youth and the middle class. In the Azores, bank valuations for the price per square meter of homes recently recorded the highest growth in the country. At the same time, the region has the highest rate of housing overcrowding, despite the existence of around 14,000 unoccupied homes.

The debate will feature DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte researcher Lídia Fernandes, as well as Daniel Pavão, Regional Director of Housing; Marta Guerreiro, Chair of the Executive Committee of Novo Banco dos Açores; Alexandra Bragança, President of AICOPA; and Carlos Ferreira, President of AMRAA.

Journalist Marta Silva will moderate the discussion.
