On 4 April, DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte researcher Alexandra Saraiva was interviewed on the SIC Notícias programme ‘Expresso Imobiliário’ to present the exhibition ‘Habitar Portugal 74|24’ on behalf of the curatorial team (Alexandra Saraiva, Célia Gomes, and Rui Leão).
The exhibition, on display at the CCB until 26 April, presents a panoramic overview in tribute to half a century of democracy in Portugal, thus serving as an important document for our country's contemporary history.
It features a selection of 100 works of varying scale and programmatic expression, structured around three thematic axes — ‘Architecture as a Political Gesture’, ‘The Persistence of Memory’, and ‘Ruptures and New Configurations’, aiming to interpret Portuguese architecture beyond its material dimension, highlighting its role as a cultural, social, and territorial practice, as an act of debate and resistance, stemming from a practice of questioning and a dialectical methodology, which transitioned from clandestinity to studios and schools, guided by a generation of architects and professors who influenced subsequent generations.
