Gonçalo Leandro

Cultural heritage conservator

TARS

He was born on March 10, 1975, at the Military Hospital in Lisbon. He initially thought he would become a doctor, but after stumbling almost by accident upon a restoration workshop, he ended up studying at both schools of FRESS – Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva Foundation. Subsequently, he spent about seven years working as a furniture restorer, and later in 2003, he founded WOA-Way of Arts, a company that has been active in various areas within the world of arts and crafts. His work has taken him to many places, from the Queen of England's chamber to the valleys of Jiu Xian in China. In Portugal, the list of projects developed by WOA under his direct coordination is extensive, with some of them receiving significant awards or contributing to institutions receiving recognition. Among them: an APOM award granted to WOA in partnership with the Tile Museum, 1 RICS Award to the Belmonte Palace, and numerous World Travel Awards granted to PSML-Parques de Sintra Monte da Lua, for whom the team has been providing continuous services for over a decade. This institution has been recognized as one of the best in the world in heritage conservation. He also dedicates some of his time to other personal projects such as writing and music.
