The third and final day of activities in Norway consisted of a religious ceremony, and a lunch shared with Fana community, which concluded a series of activities around the church space. The ceremony took place in an open-air amphitheatre, located on a hillside next to a stream, was organized by the parish of Fana and the communities of Karmel and Sion and accompanied by a musical group. The ecumenical communion ceremony was shared by pastors Kristin Sævik Litlere, Aage Mjeldheim and Trygve Nesse. After the ceremony, the community and the TransHERITAGE team to shared experiences, over a lunch held in the old rectory of Fana.
The activities carried out over these 3 days aimed to open Fana’s church space to the community, bringing the population closer together and reinforcing identity ties. These were moments that allowed the sharing of experiences between Portugal and Norway around religious heritage, and to discuss ways of recovering, transforming, and integrating these spaces, into the experiences of communities. It was also a moment to reflect on the role that these spaces have in creating collective memory, opening up new paths of thought, and the desire to hold new events.
