The kick-off of the initiative "transHERITAGE - Transformative Religious Heritage: Bridging Northern and Southern Europe Approaches" took place on 30th of November of 2023. The meeting was online, led by Rolando Volzone (Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa) and Justin Kroesen (University of Bergen), the project coordinators, and gathered the team located in Portugal (from Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and TARS Association) – Carla Duarte, Cláudia Antunes, Laura Pomesano, Sofia Macedo, Vasco Braga Santos - and Norway (Diocese of Bjørgvin) – Jan Ove, Ragna Sofie, Tore Skjaeveland.
The meeting focused on the main guidelines for the initiative: objectives and intervention sites – Torrão in Alentejo region (Portugal) and Fana in Vestland region (Norway) – that are centered in 3 concepts: knowledge, engagement, projection.
The initiative aims to work with local communities in order to collect memories of these spaces.
Next steps consist of building a webpage, organizing workshops for (and with) the community since February, and disseminating the first results and activities.
