On February 24, the first activity of the transHERITAGE project took place with the community of the Torrão. The event saw strong participation, with 40 attendees in the morning and 60 in the afternoon, including a majority of local residents and some curious visitors who seized the opportunity to explore a space that is usually inaccessible.
The activity included two guided tours of the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça (currently undergoing rehabilitation and restoration works). The first tour, at 11 a.m., was led by Gonçalo Leandro, responsible for the restoration work, who explained the ongoing archaeological activities and highlighted the visible frescoes in the church, detailing the restoration choices being implemented. At 3 p.m., Carlos Veloso presented insights into his architectural project for the space, which he authored.
The activity concluded with a circle of memory-sharing, where participants (primarily local residents) exchanged recollections, experiences, and stories about the convent and other religious spaces in the parish. Topics ranged from films once shown in the convent (which at one point functioned as a cinema) to the possibility of tunnels connecting convents. These two moments of gathering and memory-sharing provided an opportunity for the community to contribute to the ongoing construction of the site's history.
