|This study seeks to ascertain, on theoretical and empirical levels, the relationship between organizational change and human resource management. It its therefore our intention to: 1) raise awareness of recent trends and relations between companies’ organization and management and human resource management, through literature review; 2) analyze, in a set of Portuguese companies, the relations between different kinds of companies’ organization and management and human resource management, so as to: a) characterize best practice relations in terms of employment stability and quality, as well as adaptability to different sources of change and b) to determine the role of internal communication, consultation and other sorts of participation in employees’ and companies’ adaptability to necessary change; finally, we intend to 3) formulate theoretical and practical recommendations.|
